Most of the writing that you do in today's workplace falls into the following formats.  It's important to understand the differences in uses and in the appropriate styles of the following writing formats.

Business Letters
Letters constitute formal and official correspondence between the sender and recipient.

Memos are most frequently internal communications intended to disseminate information quickly.

Proposals provide detailed action plans that attempt to persuade the reader to accept.

Reports organize and present information or data about a topic of relevance to the audience.
