The Email Body

The body of an email usually contains a salutation, main message, explanatory material when necessary, and a courteous closing.  Here are some additional guidelines:

• Begin your message with a statement of your intent in writing.
• Be courteous and concise.
• Avoid abbreviations, slang and business jargon that your recipients may not understand.
• Keep paragraphs or blocks of text short to make them easier to read.
