Style

Style is how your message is put together.  How well you communicate your message to your audience depends on your style.  How long are your sentences and paragraphs?  Is your choice of words appropriate for the audience?  What point of view do you present in your message?

Tone

The tone of your message expresses your attitude toward your readers and the topic at hand.  The appropriate tone depends on your message and your relationship to your audience.
