Who are you writing for?  Write their names and professional titles, or try to clearly describe the group of people who will read your message.

What is their relationship to you?  Do you work in the same department or for the same supervisor?

What do your readers already know about your subject and what is their attitude towards it?

Are their any special circumstances, conditions, or situations that you may need to think about as you formulate your message?
