Compare and Contrast Workout » Organization » Do Your Own

Get your assignment in front of you, then follow the instructions below. Type your response to each step in the box beneath it, then click on the button at the bottom of the page when you are finished.
Step 1: First, name the things you want to compare and contrast. Then, list the general points of comparison and contrast that you want to address. (For example, in comparing Bach's Prelude in C Major with Chopin's C Major Etude, three categories of comparison and contrast could be rhythm, harmony, and melody.)



Step 2: Think about whether you will use the block pattern of organization or the alternating pattern. If you are having trouble deciding, you can return to the explanation of the two patterns, but be sure to use your browser's "Back" button to return here, in order to save any work you have done in the box above. We also have a list of some advantages and disadvantages of each method of organization. Once you decide, write an outline of your project:
