Tip 3: Practice!
Well before you take your test, you should practice writing opinion pieces. This involves many steps.
You will want to practice:
Taking a position and arguing it.
Formulating the sections of your argument.
Gathering support data.
Organizing the sequence of your presentation.
Writing drafts. (Try to limit the time you spend to 45 minutes, so that you get used to working within a 60 minute time period. You should reserve 15 minutes to revise your work.)
Critiquing your own work, your peer's work and published editorials. Consult tutors, professors and peers when you work on this step.
Asking good questions about your work.
Editing and proofreading. Remember to reserve 15 minutes for this step
